Philosophy of Care
Too often, Dr. Chinitz heard from other doctors that he should “lower his standards of care” in order to be more efficient. Despite this notion, he consistently saw patients waiting for over an hour to see their orthodontist, only to barely get any time to speak with the actual doctor. After seeing these instances, Dr. Chinitz made a promise to give the Westchester community a better experience at the orthodontist without sacrificing excellent results.
In addition to his high standards of care, Dr. Chinitz believes in an open line of communication between the patient and their orthodontist. He explains treatment options in detail, meets with every patient one-on-one, and knows that patients feel more at ease when they understand what’s going on. Above all, Dr. Chinitz believes in an excellent patient experience during treatment, not just fantastic smiles once treatment is completed.
Expertise
Dr. Chinitz has treated a wide range of orthodontic cases from simple to complex, including orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery) cases. He’s known for his expertise in LightForce custom braces, which give him better control, precision, and efficiency in treatment.
From Board Certification to Teaching the Next Generation
A believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Chinitz made the decision to become board-certified in 2021. Board certification requires additional training and proof of experience to earn, and it’s a distinction earned by only the most dedicated orthodontists. Maintaining certification also requires completing continuing education in the orthodontic field.
Dr. Chinitz also uses his expertise and experience to teach new and incoming orthodontists. As the Director of Clinical Orthodontics at the Touro College of Dental Medicine, he instructs third- and fourth-year dental students on how to be better orthodontic and dental practitioners. He is also a national lecturer for LightForce custom braces, traveling across the country to teach fellow orthodontists about this technology.
